1990 → 2026
From a notebook page to PRISMA.
In 1990, three engineers were asking themselves how to pay the rent and the electricity bill, and how to win more clients. This is the answer, year by year.
Our history, year by year
A notebook page
Alejandro Muñoz, Daniel Quiun, and Marcos Tinman begin working together. On May 18, in the midst of hyperinflation, they bill their first recorded project: P.900. Their to-do list includes selling software and computers, and one question: how do we secure a minimum monthly income to cover rent and electricity?

The company is founded
On January 1, 1991, Prisma Ingenieros Asesores Consultores begins operations. The second question on that page, “we need other clients—how?”, begins to be answered one project at a time.
The first large hotels
Working with Gremco brings the first large-scale hotels, such as the Hotel Suites Plaza Las Flores. The construction sign already shows PRISMA in charge of the structures.

A team of twenty
The year-end outing brings together about twenty people. That same year, PRISMA visits the Estadio Monumental construction site, its largest project to date.

Estadio Monumental
The Club Universitario de Deportes stadium opens: stands for 60,000 spectators, private boxes, a museum, a tunnel, and bridges, with 60,000 m² of built area.

The technical voice after the earthquake
After the southern Peru earthquake, El Comercio publishes “Diseños antisísmicos” (Seismic-resistant designs), in which Muñoz, Quiun, and Tinman propose seismic protection systems for the country.

Buildings that move without damage
The first buildings with seismic isolation and energy dissipation arrive: PUCP, Atlantik Ocean Tower, Torre Barlovento, and Torre Orquídeas. By 2019, more than 80% of Peru's buildings with modern seismic protection had been designed by PRISMA.

Pan American Games
The Velodrome, Athletics Stadium, and Bowling Center at VIDENA, and the Polideportivo Miguel Grau: fast-track design in collaborative BIM, with 130 m space trusses.

Hospitals that keep running
Hospital de Llata opens, and the new Clínica Internacional tower is designed with 103 isolation devices.
PRISMA 360
An in-house platform brings together engineering, quotes, people, and e-signatures, and a server runs automated routines on ETABS, SAP2000, and OpenSees.

And we keep going
35 years, more than 35 million m² designed, and more than 60 people. The 1990 page is still kept; the questions have changed.
