As part of CONI 2026 and National Engineering Week, the Colegio de Ingenieros del Perú – CD Lima hosted a key presentation for professional development: the new Peruvian Seismic Design Standard E.030-2026.
The presentation was given by engineer Alejandro Muñoz Peláez, seismic design consultant, chair of the E.030 standard committee, and faculty member at the PUCP Graduate School.
Why it matters
E.030 defines how every building in the country is designed to withstand earthquakes. Each update incorporates lessons from recent earthquakes, research, and professional practice, and changes the way real estate developers, designers, and contractors must plan their projects.
